Valentine Weekend

Happy Valentines Day to all hope that everyone had a fun and got lots of love this last weekend. JR and I celebrated on Friday since we did not want to fight the dinner crowds on Saturday. It was very nice we went to Ruby River while auntie Erin and Mamaa (grandma dot) babysat. It was fun to just sit and talk we don't do that enough. I think it is so easy for us to just get involved in the everyday grind and we forget how important it is to have one another there. Then on Saturday I made bbq chicken pizza it was soo good. Erin came over again since her Valentine had to work that evening. I love my family, and to JR I feel so lucky to be your wife for anyone who does not know JR or hasn't had the opportunity to get to know him (since he is shy) you should know he is seriously one of the kindest most patient people I have ever known I am so serious I love him so much and am glad to have him so close. He is a great dad too and has all kinds of plans for Kai's future, hopefully the NBA lets boys go on missions lol. Love you all...oh and since I am bad and didn't take any pictures on Valentines Day I just found some I already had of JR and I they are pretty rockin huh!?

My sweet son!

Ok I know it has been awhile I have a hard time keeping up lately I just get busy but here is a quick update...JR and I are offically Valiant 11 teachers together, I have been teaching the class since last Feb and this week they called JR to team teach with me so now I don't have to always plan the lesson we can do it together. JR started playing basketball in a league in salt lake and they had their first game last night. He loves to play so I am glad he does even if we miss him when he is gone. We sarted planning our vacations for the year this week because UPS makes them have the weeks they want off already picked so now I am just excited for April when we go on our first vacation the plan at the moment is to go to Yellowstone, Jackson Hole and Philipsburg Montanta to visit my Uncle and ride horses. I am excited to see Kai's reaction to the horses and cows. So that is about it in a nut shell I am still training away for the marathon and ran six miles last saturday in just under an hour I thought that was pretty good. Now to explain the pictures Ashley has been nice enough to watch Kai for me a few times when I was training in the office and the other day Kai and Ava were playing and Ashley told Ava to kiss him and well the pictures tell it all. Not the proudest moment for me as a parent do any of you have any advice for a "hitting child" cause it is getting out of control!?

New and Old...

Well so far 2009 has been eventful I started a new job which has been great but busy to say the least, soon I will be at home and set up and things will be back to "normal". I also had my gall bladder out on Tuesday all is well recovery has been up and down but I am doing good. I have had stomache problems for a few years now and the Doctor thought it was my ulcers but when I had some unexpected stress right before Christmas and got really sick the doctor decided to check the gall bladder again and sure enough it was pretty bad, so I am excited to see how I feel now that it is gone. JR and I are planning on going to the new Draper Temple dedication and open house I think that will be a cool thing to do before we get sealed this fall. Also as soon as I am recovered I am going to start running again to train for the half marathon I am running in Moab with Brooke in March so anyone want to run with me let me know I would love the motivation. I am so excited for new things to happen this year and excited to leave behind old things there is so much to life, don't let anything that drags you down stay around its not worth it! Love you all and happy new begininnings in 2009! P.S. I know that is not the cutest picture of me but man Kai is soo cute!

Just some holiday bragging

This Christmas was wonderful Kai is at a really fun age he wasn't into un-wrapping presents but he loved all the cool new things around and just ran around the room looking at everything. JR and I made out good this year too. We started off the season saying we wouldn't spend much money and then ended up spending more than we said we would. We were able to as a whole family my mom and all do a really nice secret santa for a family we love so much. My dads wife made Kai the coolest "busy book" that I will post pictures of because you just have to see it. My mom gave him this busy train toy that he can push around and it reads letters to him. He loves reading books right now and is busy, busy running around exploring. It is so fun to watch him experience new things that I just take for advantage, I fed him pineapple last night, and you could see it in his eyes when he took the first bite that he thought that was pretty special stuff and he kept wanting more. It is just so fun right now with him but then sometimes he has a "terrible two" moment that scares me of what is to come I just pray he stays sweet cause I don't know if I am the best parent and I am scared to teach in the wrong way. Which leads me to a thought I just had does anyone think it is too young to start teaching him potty training? I have heard boys are harder to teach and I am wondering if I start now that it will be more easy? Well hope all of you had a good Christmas and here is a picture of our matchy matchy pajama's from Christmas eve (missed you Brooke and Brady).

Disco Elf's...

Temple Square, and my wonderful family!

Thank goodness for family! And all I am going to say is that I have the best sisters in the world and don't know what I would do without them! Jessica is so talented and was asked to play the violin at the assembly hall on Temple Square Sunday so it was a good excuse to go see the lights and they were GLORIOUS (that was for you JR and Nick). We didn't stay for Jessica's concert cause it started at 8:30 not 7:30 like my mom had told us but we were there to support anyways and she knows that :) I just love my Erin too she is one of my best friends and I love that she is so rational and that she listens to me even when I say the same things over and over (which I do a lot:)) I can't wait to spend Christmas with them all and am so sad Brooke, Brady and Eli won't be here too we love you guys! Happy Holidays!

Tis The Season

Christmas is right around the corner and this year more than ever I have the desire to give...I know that sounds selfish since I am 26 years old (it isn't like I have never wanted to give before I just always had a list of things I wanted to recieve as well). But, considering all the service my family has recieved this year from others and the blessings we have been given from all the service I guess it just wouldn't feel right to not do something for someone else. I want to be more like Christ and this is what our Savior did his whole life, he served. In our ward letter this month there was a poem from President Monson....

There's Christmas in the home and church,
There's Christmas in the mart;
But you'll not know what Christmas is
Unless it's in your heart.

The bells may call across the snow,
And carols search the air;
But, oh, the heart will miss the thrill
Unless it's Christmas there.

Merry Christmas and thanks to all of you who have served me, JR and Kai so much this year I really don't think you know how much you mean to me it is because of some peoples selfless prayers, and service, and endless hours of teaching that we will be an eternal family soon...love you all.
